Many of our customers have chosen to install our mantels or shelves above their log burners or fireplaces. However, we recommend consulting the manufacturer’s guidelines for your log burner or fireplace before purchasing to ensure you follow the recommended fitting distances.

Please be aware that installing timber directly above a heat source can accelerate movement in the wood, as the heat dries it out more quickly. This may result in splitting, warping, or bowing over time. To help minimise this, we advise introducing oak beams to the heat gradually so the timber can dry at a slower, more even rate.
