Yes. Timber is a natural material, so every piece is unique and will feature its own natural characteristics. We use air-dried oak and kiln-dried pine for our products.

It’s very likely your shelf or mantel will display surface cracks, splits, knots, shakes, waney edges, bows, and twists, as well as sticker shadows and machine marks that contribute to the rustic appearance.

Once installed in your warm, cosy home, the timber will continue to move and settle, and additional cracks may develop over time. This is completely normal and expected as the wood gradually adjusts to its new environment.
